Deep blood red 5.75 - 6” flowers radiating like lava, Vascular Vixen has always been my favorite. Large, robust blooms with deeper crimson-colored veins and spots make it distinctive. It looks as if blood was rushing to the heart to sustain life. Of thousands of daylilies in my garden, nothing can be mistaken for Vascular Vixen.

The glowing red flowers have a bold green to yellow throat, are uniquely ruffled, and have a white-wired edge with red hooks and knobs. This is rare to come by in a northern hardy daylily. Plants are big and healthy with arching blue-green DORMANT foliage. The 31” scapes are straight and tall, with beautifully spaced 3-4 way branching and 15-20 buds. Mildly fragrant and fertile both ways.

A rare chance to obtain spotting and veining genetics from a cross of Sundried Tomatoes and a distinctive dormant seedling of mine. Capable of throwing heavy edges as well.

Although modest at first glance, this seemingly simple yellow is anything but ordinary. In fact, TALL BLONDE AND PLASTIC is the most striking blossom of any daylily seedling we have ever bloomed in this color range. I have never seen anything else quite like this sculptural, heavy leather or plastic-like daylily.

This vibrant canary yellow overlaid deep green blossom of ultra refined form and extreme three-dimensional finish is certainly unique and beautiful. On certain days it shows a faint reddish halo. The form and substance of TALL BLONDE AND PLASTIC is so heavy and plastic-like that it does not look real. Each 6” bloom is ruffled and recurves back to perfection as they are displayed well above the low arching foliage. Its scape is tall, straight and well-branched. An established clump in full bloom is quite striking. A blossom viewed close up is dazzling. It could prove useful for those crossing for sculpting, teeth or even patterns because of its parentage. TALL BLONDE AND PLASTIC is unique and exciting to see in person.
